Silver Summit All-Abilities Playground

The Silver Summit All-Abilities Playground Project raised funds for design and construction of Montana’s first large-scale, all-abilities playground in McCormick Park in downtown Missoula.
The project involved local children with disabilities in advocating for accessible playground features. Total cash and in-kind donations exceeded $650K.
The Playground Project partnered with the city on a collaborative design process, build the playground, which features a pour-in-place rubber surfacing, adaptive play equipment and art.The project also partnered with Parks and Rec to create inclusive programming and camps that use the playground for group play and activities.
Project Partners: Missoula Parks and Recreation, University of Montana Rural Institute for Inclusive Communities, Summit Independent Living, Joe Stone Foundation, numerous local businesses, individuals, service organizations and foundations.
